Rubina is a physician, researcher and a Postdoctoral Associate in the Institute for Health Informatics at the University of Minnesota. Her current work is focused on studying the impact of a rationally designed clinical document Graphical User Interface on Electronic Health Record usability, a component of an AHRQ funded grant on ‘Discovery and Visualization of New Information from Clinical Reports in the EHR’. During her Master’s degree, she designed, developed, and studied a Clinical Decision Support System using a novel clinical diagnostic modeling approach based on Diagnostic Clinical Decision Models.

Research Interests

  • Graphical user interface design pertaining to Electronics Heath Records.
  • Human computer interactions and Usability testing in healthcare information technology domain. Her objective is to design a GraphicalUser Interface that could result in significant improvement in its useracceptance and ease to adoption, leading to overall improvement in health care delivery.
  • Clinical Decision Support 

Research Projects

Discovery and Visualization of New Information from Clinical Reports is an AHRQ funded research grant to support a research collaboration amongst the University of Minnesota, Fairview Health Service, and Allina Health – R01HS022085.
