Summary

Yan is a senior research associate and Ph.D. student in the Institute for Health Informatics at the University of Minnesota. Her responsibilities include support of the NLP/IE program with analytical techniques to answer health informatics questions; maintaining server and datasets to support health informatics research; and working on all aspects of system implementation cycle, including developing code and scripts, testing and debugging, executing and analyzing software, and maintaining applications. Her primary research in clinical NLP includes work in information extraction from operative reports and frame-based semantics for clinical texts.
