AHC Informatics Grand Rounds

The spring Informatics Grand Rounds of the Academic Health Center starts January 21, 2016. It will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 in 2-690 Moos Tower on Thursdays throughout the semester. There will be light refreshments during the presentaion and social time afterwards. The Informatics Grand Rounds is designed to enable members of the campus, state, national, and international biomedical and health informatics communities to share their expertise, while fostering dynamic interaction and dialogue exchange among those attending. Coordinated by the Institute for Health Informatics (IHI), there are eight sponsoring AHC programs: the School of Dentistry, the Medical School,  the School of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy, the School of Public Health, the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Biomedical Library, and the Center for Allied Health's Occupational Therapy program. The AHC Informatics Grand Rounds participates with the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education in the cross-training of health professionals, and with the University of Minnesota Informatics Institute (UMII) to help bridge the different programs offering this broad discipline.

All presentations can be accessed remotely through WebEx. Active links to each seminar will be placed after the presentation on the weekly list AHC Informatics Grand Rounds Spring 2016. Students registering for the 1-credit HINF 5346 will find instructions on the class Moodle. Contact the IHI coordinator Laël Gatewood to suggest future speakers and topics, to provide feedback about this new series, or to suggest other seminar series of interest.

This year, several of our speakers will also be part of our new Health Informatics Invited Speaker Series.
