Jinhua Wang, PhD, MBA
Dr. Wang received his PhD in Bioinformatics/Biophysics at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He conducted a postdoctoral fellowship in computational biology and computational genomics at Cold Spring Harbor and a bioinformatics/computational scientist appointment at the Hartwell Center at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Prior to joining the University of Minnesota Institute for Health Informatics and the Masonic Cancer Center, he was an associate professor at NYUSOM and a member and co-director of the bioinformatics core at the NYU Cancer Center.
Expertise
Computational analysis for high-throughput cancer genomics projects especially as it relates to high-throughput data mining and modeling, heterogeneous genomics data integration, comparative genomics; integrating copy number variation, gene expression profiling, sequence somatic mutations and proteomic data, and developed novel methods to detect the influence of copy number variation and coding/noncoding mutations on splicing and expression of different splicing isoforms
