Rebecca Markowitz, MD, MA

Dr. Markowitz is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Hospital Medicine.  She divides her clinical time as a hospitalist at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and a primary care physician.  Through her informatics work, she focuses on optimizing the electronic medical record and related tools for inpatient providers and staff.  Some of her focuses include improving clinical documentation, safer and easier communication using secure messaging, and inpatient virtual care.  She has also been involved with a number of EHR go-lives and continues to work on improving the prioritization and governance of new IT requests.
