Sonja Short, MD, FAAP, FACP

Sonja Short, MD, FAAP, FACP is a primary care Med-Peds physician and associate CMIO for M Health Fairview as well as adjunct faculty in the department of pediatrics at the University of Minnesota and a faculty member for the University's Clinical Informatics Fellowship. She is a graduate of Montana State University and Harvard Medical School and completed her combined internal medicine-pediatrics residency and a pediatrics chief year at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Short has worked in informatics since 2006 in various roles and led numerous initiatives to optimize clinical workflows, ensure compliance with regulatory programs and improve patient outcomes through technology. She is a past member and co-chair of the Minnesota e-Health Initiative advisory council, where she helped guide statewide health informatics strategy. Nationally, she contributes her expertise as an advisory committee member for Surescripts and Pfizer; has participated in a Delphi process with Shift focused on privacy, consent and information exchanges; and is a member of the executive team for the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Clinic Information Technology.
